Christ's Ministry and
Work
When Jesus was about thirty years old (Luke 3:23) He
began His public ministry. The beginning of His ministry was marked by His
baptism by John the Baptist (Matthew 3:13-17). Jesus' public ministry
lasted 2-3 years.
Basically, Christ's ministry had three prominent
features. Read the following passages and identify the three aspects of
His ministry.
1. Read Matthew 4:23;
5:2; 7:28-29.
_______________________________________________________
2. Read Acts 2:22 and
Matthew
11:1-6.
_______________________________________________________
3. Read Matthew 16:21
and 20:17-19.
_______________________________________________________
It is important to understand that these three aspects
of Christ's ministry complemented each other. They were not three
separate goals Christ had, but were all parts of the same purpose and work.

Jesus accomplished many important things during His time
on this earth. Read the following passages and identify the things He
did.

we should follow in His steps (1 Pet 2:21). There are three aspects to
the example Christ left for us to follow. Read the passages below and
identify these three aspects.
9. Read John
13:34-35 and Ephesians
5:1-2.

10. Read Philippians
2:3-8 and Romans

which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know
Matthew 11:1-6 -- When Jesus had finished giving
instructions to His twelve disciples, He departed from there to teach and
preach in their cities. Now when John, while imprisoned, heard of the works of
Christ, he sent word by his disciples and said to Him, "Are You the Expected
One, or shall we look for someone else?" Jesus answered and said to them, "Go
and report to John what you hear and see: the blind receive sight and the lame
walk, the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and
the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who does not take
offense at Me."

1 Peter 2:21-23 -- For you have been called for this
purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to
follow in His steps, who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in his
mouth; and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering,
He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges
righteously

1 Corinthians 15:3 -- For I delivered to you as of first
importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to
the Scriptures,
Romans 5:8 -- But God demonstrates His own love toward us,
in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

question #6
Hebrews 9:15-17 -- For this reason He is the mediator of a
new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the
transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have
been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. For where a
covenant is, there must of necessity be the death of the one who made it. For
a covenant is valid only when men are dead, for it is never in force while the
one who made it lives.

1 Corinthians 15:20-26 -- But now Christ has been raised
from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. For since by a man
came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam
all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own order:
Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ's at His coming, then
comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He
has abolished all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign until He
has put all His enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be abolished
is death.

John 13:34-35 -- "A new commandment I give to you, that
you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one
another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love
for one another."
Ephesians 5:1-2 -- Therefore be imitators of God, as
beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave
Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.

#9
Philippians 2:3-8 -- Do nothing from selfishness or empty
conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than
yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also
for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also
in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard
equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form
of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in
appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of
death, even death on a cross.
Romans 15:1-3 -- Now we who are strong ought to bear the
weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. Each of us
is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification. For even Christ
did not please Himself; but as it is written, "the reproaches of those who
reproached you fell on me."

question #10
John 4:34 -- Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the
will of Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work.
John 17:4 -- "I glorified You on the earth, having
accomplished the work which You have given Me to do.
Matthew 26:39 -- And He went a little beyond them, and
fell on His face and prayed, saying, "My Father, if it is possible, let this
cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will."

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 -- Now I make known to you, brethren,
the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you
stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached
to you, unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first
importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to
the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third
day according to the Scriptures,
